Take a mixing bowl, add both dal, mix it well, wash it, soak in water overnight, strain it, keep aside.

Take a pressure cooker, add strained dal, green chilli, garlic, ginger, salt, haldi powder, hing & oil. Now add 3 cup water (adjustable), place the lid, give 8 whistles on high flame. Lower the flame, cook it for 15 minutes.

Turn off the flame, allow it to depressurise naturally, open the lid after 5 minutes. Check it, if not cooked properly, cook it for some more time. Whisk dal for a minute, keep aside.

First Tadka....a). Take a wok b, add ghee, heat it. In goes hing & jeera, let it splutter.

Add in onion, stir fry it until light brown.

In goes salt, ginger & garlic, mix it well, sprinkle lil water, cook it until rawness is released.

Mix dhania powder & kashmiri red chilli powder with dahi, whisk it, add in the masala, mix it well.

Cook it covered on low flame until ghee has oozed out. Open the lid, add sugar & garam masala powder, mix it well, cook it for a minute.

Now add cooked dal, mix it well, add lil water if required, give a stir.

Give a boil, lower the flame, cook it for 2 minutes. Turn off the flame.

Take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.

Take a tadka pan, add ghee, heat it, in goes dry red chilli, saute it until light brown, pour it over dal, mix it at the time of serving...
