On my trip to Uttrakhand and Kathmandu I found hemp/bhang seeds. The seeds are edible and non-psychoactive.

The chutney is safe for everyone, including children.

This chutney can be served with everyday Indian-style meals, or smear it on a ragi roti (finger millet roti, made) for a snack or light lunch. You can also serve this chutney with your favorite snacks, just like you would serve green chutney.

Ingredients

3-5 minutes
4 servings
  • 1/2 cuphemp seeds
  • 1 cupfresh coriander leaves
  • 2 Tspchopped ginger
  • 2 Tspchopped green chilli
  • 3-4 clovespeeled garlic
  • 1 Tspsalt
  • 1 Tbspfresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbspghee (For tempering)
  • 1-2dry red chilli (For tempering)

Steps

3-5 minutes
  1. 1

    Add hemp seeds to a pan and dry roast on low heat until they are lightly browned (3-4 minutes). Stir continuously while roasting.

    Remove the pan from the heat and let the seeds cool completely.

    Add the roasted seeds to a blender along with green coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger, garlic, salt, and lime juice.

    Add ½ cup water and blend to make a smooth chutney.

    Heat ghee in a pan over medium heat. Temper the chutney with dry red chilli. This delicious chutney is ready to be served at room temperature. Thanks.
