Wash and soak Kala chana for 7 hours. Boil in cooker by making 5 whistles. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida.

Add curry leaves, chopped green chillies, garlic and grated ginger, add besan. Saute for 2 minutes.

Add turmeric powder and boiled kala chana.

Add buttermilk. Salt, red chilli powder, cumin coriander powder, mix it well.

Add chopped jaggery, garam masala. Add 1/2 cup of water and boil for 3 minutes so all the ingredients mix well.

Add chopped green coriander. Serve delicious kala chana besan curry with Roti.
