To begin, blend green peas and coriander leaves into a coarse paste. I have used thawed frozen peas for this recipe. If you are using fresh peas, blanch them first.

Add semolina and curd to the mixture. Mix well and let it rest for at least 15 minutes to allow the semolina to soak in the liquids.

Add in ginger garlic paste and salt. Next add in the chopped onions, carrots, and green chillies. Mix well. Adjust the batter adding a bit of water. It should not be runny.

Finally, add the Eno fruit salt and mix well.

Heat the appe or paniyaram pan. Grease it generously with oil and pour a teaspoon or two into each of the pits. Cover it with a lid and let it cook. Flip them over to cook on the other side as well.

Green Peas Appe are ready to serve. Serve hot with ketchup or your favorite chutney.
