Ingredients

20-25 minutes
4-5 servings
  1. 1 cupgrated boiled bottle gourd
  2. 1 cupfinely chopped fenugreek leaves
  3. 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  7. 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
  8. 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds
  9. 1 tablespoon oil for dough
  10. 2 tablespoons fresh yogurt
  11. Oil for cooking

20-25 minutes
  1. 1

    Take the boiled bottle gourd with its water. Lightly roast the fenugreek leaves in a non-stick pan.

    In a bowl, combine the flour with roasted fenugreek, spices, and oil.

    Add yogurt and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 5 minutes. Roll out very thin flatbreads.

    Cook on a griddle, applying oil on both sides until well cooked. Enjoy hot or cold. This thepla is great for travel.
