This appe recipe is easy to prepare & good option for idli. Idli batter is made from rice & urad dal. So it's heathy snack. You can enjoy it as a breakfast or tiffin for kids. Do try it out!!!

This appe recipe is easy to prepare & good option for idli. Idli batter is made from rice & urad dal. So it's heathy snack. You can enjoy it as a breakfast or tiffin for kids. Do try it out!!!

In a bowl take fermented idli batter. Add salt + chopped onion + green chilies+ coriander+ salt+ ready tadka. Add little water 2-3 tsp & adjust thin consistency. Mix all ingredients well.

Heat appe pan. Let it well heated or else appe wouldn't be roast well. Once heated add 1/4 tsp oil into each cavity.

Now pour appe batter into each cavity with the help of spoon. Fill each cavity about 3/4 of it's portion. so that appe gets puffed. Cover appe pan with lid. Cook over high to medium flame.

After 3-4 min, take off lid. Let the steam goes off for 2-3 min. Appe has puffed well. Drizzle oil over each appe. Flip each appa & cook it's other side until it turns brown. Cook from both sides to turn crisp & brown.

Once roasted from both sides, take out appe into a plate. Make all appe likewise into 3-4 batches. I made appe into 3 batches. It was very crisp & tadty when served hot.

Serve ready hot appe with green chutney or also with sambar. It also tastes good without chutney.
