Falooda is a liquid milk dessert that is loaded with vermicelli, dry fruits and takmaria. This recipe doesn't make falooda from scratch. It uses the premix of falooda. Usually when you make falooda using premix, it turns out to be extremely sweet. This recipe improvises the premix in order to make it better.

Falooda is a liquid milk dessert that is loaded with vermicelli, dry fruits and takmaria. This recipe doesn't make falooda from scratch. It uses the premix of falooda. Usually when you make falooda using premix, it turns out to be extremely sweet. This recipe improvises the premix in order to make it better.

Dissolve custard powder in 1 bowl of cold milk. Heat up rest of the milk and allow it to boil for about 5-7 min.

Add falooda mix in the boiling milk. Also. Add the takmaria. Stir and allow it to simmer for 15 min allowing the noodles to get cooked and takmari seeds to puff.

Stir the custard milk and add it in the falooda. Stir and boil till the mixture thickens a bit. We are looking for slightly thick and creamy texture so that the noodles and takmari blend well and the mixture looks homogeneous (like fruit salad). Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool.

Refrigerate it until chilled. At the time of serving fill up a glass or a bowl ¾ level. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and garnish it with chopped nuts. serve immediately.

It is difficult to measure the proportion of the ingredients if you want to make only 2-3 servings. In that case, take a little more milk than the quantity you need for serving. Add falooda mix as much as makes the milk sweet enough. Use ¼ tsp custard powder/serving. ¼ tsp takmari/serving is a good quantity, but it's entirely your preference.
