Steps
- 1
Wash and rinse the rice thoroughly at first. Later soak in enough clean drinking water for a good 30 minutes at least. It's a must to soak it beforehand for fluffy and well cooked rice.
- 2
500 grams of rice is nearly equal to 2 cups. Water and rice ratio to be maintained is 5:2. This requires a bit more of water for that perfect results. After soaking, use 2 1/2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice. But if you have soaked it for an hour. Then reduce the amount of water to 2.
- 3
Cover and cook rice until done. Don't peek every now and then. The steam might escape and the results won't be good enough. Cook for the next 15-18 minutes or so. Drain it well. Keep it back on the stovetop again for about 4-5 minutes on a low heat. It would be done perfectly. Do not forget to cover it.
- 4
Fluff it up after done. Serve it piping hot right away with your favourite curry or gravy. Enjoy!
