No-Knead Puffy Focaccia
This is an easy and simple recipe to make, because you don't even need to knead the dough by hand—just use a bowl and a spoon to get a soft and delicious focaccia.
Steps
- 1
In a bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and a little of the water. Mix with a wooden spoon. Add the salt and the remaining water, and continue mixing.
- 2
Add the olive oil and mix well. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
- 3
After 30 minutes, use the spoon to lift and fold the dough from the outside toward the center. This helps strengthen the dough.
- 4
Cover the dough again and let it rise for 1 hour. Grease a baking pan and drizzle a little oil over the dough. Stretch it out with your hands, then fold the edges toward the center with your hands. You'll notice the dough becomes smoother and more airy.
- 5
Drizzle a little more oil over the surface, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for another hour.
- 6
Stretch the dough out with your hands, and bake at 480°F (250°C) for about 18 minutes, until golden brown. Your delicious focaccia is ready!
