Made Khoya Chocolate barfi with homemade khoya and left over cake chocolate. Toped and garnished with some chopped nuts and it came out just wonderful.
Steps
- 1
Take all ingredients together to make khoya chocolate barfi. First, grind grain sugar in a blender jar to form it in powder and keep aside to use later.
- 2
Further, take big size plate and put homefoil on a plate to spread barfi mixture and for wraping entire mixture. Grease it with a little amount of ghee so as to set the barfi in proper shape and it will be easy to lift up as well. Keep it aside.
Tip: Use butter paper instead of homefoil. I preferred homefoil as it was out of stock. - 3
Take khoya and crumble it slightky with your hands before putting it in use. Take heavy bottom pan or kadhai and put khoya to roast on medium flame until it begins to melt slightly. Do not over roast or do not allow to change its color, it may burn. Stir continuously.
Tip : Homemade khoya is used in the recipe. If khoya is refrigrated before, then better to keep it out of the refrigerator for some time and then use it. - 4
Add prepared powdered sugar in it. Mix it well. The sugar starts to separate water. Stir for 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves with the khoya and it will help to loosen up khoya. Turn off the flame and again stir for 1 to 2 minutes.
- 5
Divide the whole khoya mixture in two equal parts and pour the half of it on the greased homefoil on a plate. Leave the remaining half within the Kadhai.
- 6
Spread and cover the whole khoys with a homefoil and allow to rest for few minutes.
Till then, make chocolate mixture and allow the khoya to set for some time. - 7
Put milk within the half left over khoya in a kadhai. Add chocolate and stir in to form smooth textured chocolate syrup. Keep it aside for few minutes.
- 8
Now, level up the wrapped khoya with the help of rolling pin. Take a sharp greased knife and cut out the edges to form it in equal size. Peel off the homefoil and the base is ready for chocolate barfi.
Tip: Keep aside left over edges to use later. - 9
Pour the chocolate mixture onto this prepared khoya base. Spread evenly and allow to rest for 2 hours and may be refrigrated for atleast 30 minutes to set it properly and it will be easy to cut out in equal size peices.
- 10
Put chopped nuts on the entire mixture and again wrap with a homefoil. Then flatten gently for the nuts to properly toped upon the prepared barfi.
- 11
Peel off the homefoil and again cut out the edges to form equal sides. Keep aside left over edges.
- 12
Divide the entire peice in 4 equal parts or divide depending upon the quantity.
Transfer it to nice plate and it is done. - 13
Ready to serve and enjoy!
