Baklava with Peanuts
You can substitute any nuts you like.
Steps
- 1
Mix the flour with the butter and salt until you get a crumbly mixture. Add orange blossom water to bring the dough together. Let the dough rest for at least 2 hours.
- 2
Divide the dough into 12 balls—6 for the bottom layers and 6 for the top. Roll each ball out with cornstarch. Grease a baking pan well with butter, layer the dough, add the filling, and finish with the top layers. Cut into pieces and decorate with peanuts or almonds.
- 3
Brush the top with butter and bake over low heat for about 1 hour. While still hot, pour honey over the baklava.
