Japanese-style "Tofu Hamburg" is a refreshing twist on hamburg steak, topped with grated daikon radish and tangy ponzu sauce. Healthy and balanced with tofu and pork, it’s quick to prepare, easy to digest, and perfect year-round for all ages.
Steps
- 1
Wrap tofu in paper towels and microwave at 600W for 2 minutes to drain excess water.
Place finely chopped onion in a microwave-safe bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for about 2 minutes. Allow to cool slightly. - 2
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, drained tofu, cooked onion and all ★(potato starch, soy sauce, and grated garlic) Mix thoroughly by hand until well combined.
Divide the shape into round patties, and slightly indent the center. Place the shaped patties onto a tray lined with paper towels and let them sit to remove additional moisture before cooking. - 3
Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook patties for about 3 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and cook for another 5–6 minutes until fully cooked through.
- 4
Grate some fresh daikon radish and place it on top of the hamburg steak. To enjoy a refreshing flavor, use ponzu sauce this time.
