This is an easy and well-known homemade bread recipe that I wanted to share because I really love homemade bread and enjoy baking it.

Mix the water, milk, oil, sugar, and yeast together. Cover and let it rise for 10 minutes.

You can add fennel seeds or anise seeds for extra flavor if you like. Then, gradually add all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until you get a soft, slightly sticky dough. Cover and let it rise.

Once the dough has risen, place it in a baking pan and let it rise again for about 15 minutes. Brush the top with egg yolk mixed with a little vinegar, milk, or coffee—whatever you have on hand. Sprinkle sesame seeds, nigella seeds, or leave it plain. Bake in a preheated oven.

After about 30 minutes, turn off the bottom heat and turn on the top heat to brown the bread. Remove from the oven when golden.
