Dal forms an integral part of a Gujarati meal as it is full of protein . Gujaratis are very fond of dal dhokli . It is a one - pot meal & can be made in a jiffy . We , Gujaratis have a mastery in making dal dhokli . In many Gujarati households, extra dal is made the previous day & on the next day dal dhokli is wiped up from it .

I also have used last night's dal to wipe up this one meal dish . It is not only nutritious but tasty too & for my husband one bowl is just not enough.

So let us now move on to the recipe of this most popular Gujarati Dal Dhokli which is a heart throb of Gujarati households . Made with simplest of day to day spices , I am sure you are going to love it & it will become a favorite Sunday meal in your house too .

Note : Set the consistency of the dal dhokli as per your choice. On cooling, dal dhokli tends to thicken, so add hot water accordingly.
