Ingredients

45 minutes
1 Bundt cake or 2 (9-inch/22 cm) round cake pans for a layer cake
  1. 3 cupsall-purpose flour (about 375 grams)
  2. 1 1/2 cupssugar (about 300 grams)
  3. 1/3 cupunsweetened cocoa powder (about 35 grams)
  4. 2 1/4 teaspoonsbaking powder
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoonsbaking soda
  6. 1 1/2 cupsmayonnaise (about 360 grams)
  7. 1 1/2 cupswater (about 355 ml)
  8. 2 teaspoonsvanilla extract

Steps

    Grease a Bundt pan or two 9-inch round cake pans if you want to make a layer cake. If using cake pans, line the bottoms with parchment paper.

    In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix well with a spoon or a whisk.

    Add the mayonnaise, water, and vanilla extract.

    Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes. Let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
