The combination of flavors in this banana bread is excellent. It has all the ingredients I love to add to a loaf cake.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add the apples, raisins, and walnuts, and mix to combine.

In another bowl, beat together the melted butter, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, mashed bananas, eggs, milk, mandarin zest and juice, and liquor until well combined.

Add the wet mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just combined. Preheat the oven to 350°F (178°C). Grease a loaf pan with oil or butter and pour in the batter.

Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 60 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean when done. Let the bread cool until just warm before removing from the pan. If it is completely cool, it may be harder to remove from the pan.

If you like, once completely cool, dust the top with powdered sugar.
