Collect and measure the aval and jaggery powder to make aval payasam. Keep aside.

Keep a kadai on medium heat and add ghee. Then add the chopped cashew nuts and raisins, fry till golden colour. Remove from heat. Transfer to a bowl.

In the same kadai add one table spoon ghee and thick or thin aval. Fry till the aroma appears from aval.keep aside.

Take a deep pan. Keep on medium heat. Add milk let it boil, then add the aval. Let it cook for five minutes.

Then add jaggery and cardamom powder. Mix well. Cook for five minutes. Add the fried nuts. Remove from flame. Tasty aval payasam is ready to serve.

Transfer to a serving bowl. Garnish with fried raisins.
