Ingredients

  • 1 cupfried gram/ roasted chana/ dalwe / binasaliche futane
    Modak (Maharashtrian)
  • 3/4 cupjaggery powder or grated jaggery
    Ukadiche Modak
  • 1/4 cupmelted ghee
  • 4 podscardamom
  • 5-6saffron threads

  1. 1

    First, assemble all the ingredients on counter top. Then take a mixer jar for dry grinding. Add this roasted gram, jaggery powder, cardamom seeds and saffron threads to it. Grind to a fine and smooth powder.

    Then add half of the ghee and give a mix. Add remaining ghee in 2 parts. Check if the mixture binds into small balls. If not, add the remaining ghee and run the mixer once.

  3. 3

    Then transfer to a bowl. Take small balls, bind the ball with palm and pinch it with fingers to achieve a modak shape, the top part should be pointed.

  4. 4

    Make all the modak similarly by pinching and shaping into small modaks. Offer these delicious and healthy modaks to Ganapati Bappa and receive his blessings.
