Parippu vada is not only full of taste but is also beneficial for health. Parippul vada is a traditional Kerala ( South Indian ) food dish which is quite popular. Dal vada / masala vada is quite popular as a snack. Whenever you feel a little hungry during the day, this recipe can be tried or it can be served with evening tea.

First of all, take out the gram dal in a big vessel and wash it thoroughly with water 3-4 times, then soak it in water for 3-4 hours.

When the Bengal gram lentils swell well, keep 2-3 spoons of the lentils aside.

Now put soaked gram, cumin seeds, asafoetida in the mixer jar and grind them coarsely. Do not run the mixer continuously, run it intermittently so that it remains coarse and tastes better.

Now take out the ground mixture in a vessel and add chopped onion,green chillies, green coriander, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves. After this, add rice flour and some saved whole gram and mix it well

Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is heated properly, reduce the flame and press the chana dal vada with hands to flatten it and give it the shape of a tikki. Prepare all the vadas in the same way. Now put the vadas in the oil and fry them on medium flame till they become golden brown.

Fry the vadas until they turn brown on both sides. The vadas should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Drain all the vadas on tissue paper so that the extra oil drains out.

Take out the hot vada in a serving plate.Now serve the chana dal vadas hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
