Beef Filet with Mustard Sauce

I made this filet for New Year's Eve dinner. It's a very simple recipe with lots of flavor. It's perfect for beef, but you can also use it with chicken. I used the leftover sauce on January 1st to top some grilled chicken breasts.

I made this filet for New Year's Eve dinner. It's a very simple recipe with lots of flavor. It's perfect for beef, but you can also use it with chicken. I used the leftover sauce on January 1st to top some grilled chicken breasts.
Steps
- 1
Prepare the ingredients. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add both mustards and stir to combine.
- 2
Add the white wine and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the liquid is reduced by about half.
- 3
Once reduced, add the heavy cream, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- 4
Let the sauce thicken. You'll know it's ready when you can run a spatula through it and see the bottom of the pan.
- 5
Season the filet medallions with salt and pepper. Heat a grill pan or large skillet and cook the medallions to your desired doneness. Serve topped with the mustard sauce and accompany with buttered vegetables and salad as desired.
