Collect fresh bottle gourd, peel the skin and cut into small pieces

Keep a kadai on medium heat add oil, chana dal,urad dal, green chilies, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Saute till it becomes golden colour, remove and keep it aside. Then add the chopped bottle gourd skin pieces in same kadai.Saute for few minutes.

Add tomato pieces and fry till it becomes soft. Add tamarind, salt and grated coconut.

Saute for few minutes. Take it out from heat. Add the previously fried dal.Let it cool, transfer to a mixer jar. Grind it into fine chutney. Bottle Gourd Skin Chutney is ready.

Transfer to a serving bowl. Give seasoning with mustard seeds,urad dal chana dal and curry leaves.

Enjoy the healthy and tasty bottle gourd skin chutney with Idly,dosa and rice.
