Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 560 gFresh tuna
  2. 2large avocados
  3. 12–16 Small tortillas
  4. 1large red bell pepper
  5. 1large lime
  6. 2 tablespoonsOil
  7. 4 teaspoonsSoy sauce
  8. 2 teaspoonsSesame oil
  9. as neededSalt
  10. as neededBlack pepper
  11. to tasteChili pepper (crushed or finely chopped)
  12. 1/2 cupMayonnaise (optional)
  13. 2 tablespoonsHot sauce (optional)
  14. as neededSesame seeds (optional)
  15. 4Nori sheets (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut avocados into cubes or slices. Mix with juice of ½ lime, ¾ tsp salt, and black pepper. Set aside.

    Slice bell pepper into thin strips. Optionally sauté in oil for 3–4 min to soften.

  3. 3

    For sauce, mix mayonnaise, hot sauce, and juice of ¼ lime.

  4. 4

    Pat tuna dry, cut into cubes or strips. Season with 1 tsp salt, black pepper, and chili pepper.

  5. 5

    Heat skillet very hot, add oil. Cook tuna in batches, 45 sec–1 min per side.

  6. 6

    Immediately toss cooked tuna with soy sauce and sesame oil.

  7. 7

    Toast tortillas in a dry skillet or with a little butter, 1 min per side.

  8. 8

    Assemble: spread sauce, add nori, tuna, avocado, and bell pepper on each tortilla.

  9. 9

    Finish with sesame seeds and fresh lime juice before serving.
