Steps

Wash Toor dal properly. Put the lentils in the pressure cooker. Add 1 glass of water, turmeric powder, and salt. Boil it for 3 whistles on medium flame.

Turn on the heat add ghee and let it heat. Add dry red chilli, cumin seeds, and asafoetida. Let it all crackle for few seconds.

Add chopped onions, green chilli. Fry onions till it turns light brown. Add turmeric powder and mix well. Add chopped tomatoes. Cook it for 3-4 minutes more. Add a little salt, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and half of the coriander leave now. Add boiled lentils.

Add water if needed. Stir it. Bring to a boil. Add garam masala and stir it. Turn off the flame. Pour into a bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves and tadka. Toor dal is ready now.

Serve it hot with rice and pickle and enjoy......😋😋
