Combine the softened butter and both sugars in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

Add the yogurt and vanilla. Continue beating, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.

Add flour, baking powder and the salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.

Divide dough into two parts and flatten slightly. Wrap each in plastic food wrap; refrigerate 2-3 hours or until firm.

Once chilled, roll out the dough into 1/4 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters.

Place the cookies into cookie sheets and bake at 150 degrees for 8-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown.

Let the cookies cool in a wire rack till completely cool.
