Steps

180 mins
  1. 1

Boil 3 liters of water in a clean vessel. Let it cool down.

  2. 2

Add yeast to a cup of look warm water and keep it aside for 15 mins.

  3. 3

Remove grapes from stalk, clean it with water and pat it dry. There shouldn't be any moisture.

  4. 4

Crush the grapes with clean hands.

  5. 5

Take a clean container with an tight lid.

  6. 6

Make a layer of crushed grapes in the bottom. Sprinkle half of the sugar. Add wheat and spices.

  7. 7

Add the yeast, rum, cooled water and cover the mouth of the jar with a clean piece of cloth. (I just used the plastic lid of the container).

  8. 8

Keep the jar in a dark corner for 21 days. Take this everyday and stir it well with a clean spoon.

  9. 9

On the 21st day, strain the mixture using a cotton cloth.

  10. 10

Do a taste check and add rest of the sugar as required. Amount of sugar will depend on the sweetness of the grapes and how sweet you want your wine to be. You may also add some more rum at this point ;)

  11. 11

Keep it for another 2-3 weeks and keep removing the sediments every 2-3 days until wine becomes clear.

  12. 12

Once you get the clear wine, keep it refrigerated in a dark bottle.
