Fish curry otherwise known as fish vevichathu is a mouth watering side dish served with rice,chappthi,poori porotta etc. It is usually a very hot curry .But I have prepared this fish curry in a very simple method not very hot but tasty and delicious .I have used the pan made of clay for better taste of the curry and for better health

Ingredients

  • 750 gmsfish cut and cleaned
  • 3 tbspsoil
  • 3 tbspschillie powder(kashmiri chilli powder)
  • 1/2 tspsturmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspsalt (to taste)
  • 1 tspfenugreek (Uluva)
  • 1 tspsmustard seeds
  • 3 tbspsonion small , finely chopped
  • 1 tbspginger-garlic finely chopped (paste) each
  • 4 - 5 sprigscurry leaves
  • 3 - 4 clovestamarind ofTamarind (Thottu puli) depending on the quality of the

Steps

    Fish cut to small pieces,washed in vinegar and salt is drained fully and kept aside

    Heat 2 tbsps of oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds, followed by the fenugreek When it is reasonably fried,add the small onions, ginger,garlic,curry leaves and saute in low fire continuously stirring till the onions have started becoming crispy. Take out from the stove and immediately add the spices mixture containing chilly powder, turmeric powder and a pinch of salt.
