Indianised version of chinese dishes, is a rage or a trend most of us Indians have grown up with…
Every menu from an average thela( food cart), fast food joints near campuses to decent mediocre family restaurant, have Chinese as part of their menu, i.e. a restaurant Punjabi food will also serve chinese and a south indian restaurant will also serve Chinese. When I say Chinese, it is not authentic chinese, but more of Indianised palette to it, Children, grown ups all enjoy this particular cuisine… There are many dishes that have got influenced and has its own desi ( indian) name to it.
Gobhi Manchurian, Paneer Manchurian, Gobhi chilli…. Thus came into existence this new genre of dishes which used indian ingredients, the Indian taste palate with chinese sauces, all altering to our indian tastes.
Schezwan garlic paneer is one such dish… made with simple indian pantry ingredients, easy to make and goes well with fried rice, hakka noodles or just as a starter.

Mix paneer cubes with 1 tbsp cornflour salt and pepper. Keep aside Heat oil in a wok or kadai. Stir fry these paneer cubes in high flame until they are golden brown. Take out and drain excess oil.

Now in the same kadai, add another tbsp spoon oil, add 1 tsp of light soya sauce, add garlic, onions and stir fry till they are crunchy and half done.

Now add schezwan sauce tomato ketchup, salt and stir for a minute on high flame.

Now add the paneer cubes and capaicum and mix well.

Mix 1tbsp cornflour with 1/2 cup water and pour over the paneer.

Switch off the gas immediately Serve hot with fried rice or noodles…. Or just good to have it plain
