Ingredients: 2 cups fresh basil leaves; 1 clove garlic; 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese; 1/2 cup toasted pine nuts (or other nuts); 1/2 cup olive oil; 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar (more or less to taste, or leave out); to taste salt & pepper; 2 Tbsp butter, if serving with pasta.

A great sauce for any pasta or anything else you like to use pesto for (sorry for the bad photo, it really is delicious!). The balsamic vinegar in this recipe pairs well with dishes that contain tomatoes. 2 cupsfresh basil leaves
1 clovegarlic
1/2 cupshredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 cuptoasted pine nuts (or other nuts)
1/2 cupolive oil
2 Tbspbalsamic vinegar (more or less to taste, or leave out)
to tastesalt & pepper
2 Tbspbutter, if serving with pasta.

Using a food processor, place basil or greens on the bottom, and top with garlic, parmesan and nuts.

Pulse until a coarse paste forms, the slowly incorporate the olive oil until saucy. Adjust taste with balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper).

To serve with pasta, place pesto in a mixing bowl with 2 Tbsp butter. Add hot pasta and toss until butter is melted, adding pasta water if too thick.
