The Malays (or known as the Malay Jawi : ملايو) is an ethnic group of people who inhabit the Austronesian especially the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra eastern, southern Thailand, the southern coast of Burma, the island of Singapore, Borneo coast including Brunei, Kalimantan Barat, Sabah and Sarawak and coastal and small islands located between these locations - which are collectively known as the Malayan Nature. This location is now part of the modern state of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Burma and Thailand.

Even so, many Minangkabau society, Mandailings, and Dayak who move into coastal areas of Sumatra's east and west coast of Borneo, admitted as Malayu. In addition to the archipelago, there are also ethnic Malays in Sri Lanka, Cocos (Keeling) Islands (Cocos Malays), and South Africa (Cape Malays).
Many of the world community that equate with the state malaysia malay rate. Whereas ethnicity/race wilt not only in Malaysia, but widespread in southeast Asian countries and parts of Oceania.

This drink is an original recipe typical of the provinces of Jambi and can be found in the Telanai area- specifically at Jalan Baru, near the Mosque Ar'Raudhoh, Simpang Karya, the city of Jambi. Because the ingredients are simple, this can be made with the children at home.

Ingredients

  1. 1pineapple (size medium), peeled-wash and cut
  2. 150 grsweet corn, boiled and seeds removed
  3. 200 gramsseaweed
  4. 50 grnata de coco
  5. 75 grsugar palm fruit (color optional)
  6. 300 grshaved ice
  7. SYRUP
  8. 300 gramsfine brown sugar
  9. 200 mlwater
  10. to tasteSugar
  11. SAUCE
  12. 500 mlcoconut milk (from 1 coconut)
  13. 1pandan leaf
  14. 1/8 tspsalt

    SYRUP : boil sugar and water until dissolved.

    SAUCE : boil coconut milk, pandan leaves, and salt, stirring until boiling.

    Put the pineapple, corn, seaweed, nata de coco and fruit in serving glasses.

    Add the sugar syrup, coconut milk and shaved ice.

    Sugar palm fruit in the Dutch language which is commonly called GLIBBERTJES, made ​​from the seeds of palm trees (Arenga pinnata) which is shaped flat and gummy. To make sugar palm fruit, the craftsmen usually burn palm fruit until charred, then taken the seeds to be boiled for several hours.
