Ingredients

200 minutes
3 serves
  • 200 gMaize (maindi mbichi)
  • Beans (soaked for 3 hrs)150g
  • 10 mlsoil
  • 1/2 tbspsalt
  • 3large carrots - chopped
  • 1 bunchdania
  • 1onion chopped
  • 3tomatoes chopped
  • 2small hohos

Steps

200 minutes
  1. 1

    Rinse the pre soaked beans. Put to boil for 2 and 1/2 hours.

  2. 2

    , While its boiling, wash and chop : hoho, carrots, onion, tomatoes, dania.

  3. 3

    Then start frying the onions till slightly brown then add hohostir for 2 minutes. Then add tomatoes and carrots. Stir and cover to allow the tomatoes to cook.

  4. 4

    Then add the boiled Githeri and mix then allow to boil for about 3 minutes.

  5. 5

    The add the dania and mix. Then add a little water to prevent it from burning. Add salt.

  6. 6

    Boil for a few minutes and serve best with tea.
