[Perilla Plum Braised Ribs] Easy Rice Dish

I had some perilla plums left from last time, so I made perilla plum ribs at the request of my little prince. It's super appetizing and goes great with rice—he even had two bowls! The ribs, cooked with sweet, sour, and salty perilla plums, are tender yet firm, with a delicious flavor. The braising method is very simple, not too complicated, and the taste is as enticing as restaurant dishes.

  • [Ingredients]
  • 1 poundpork spare ribs
  • 3 clovesgarlic
  • [Seasonings]
  • 6perilla plums with juice
  • 1 tablespoonketchup
  • 2 tablespoonsrice wine
  • 2 tablespoonssugar
  • 2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  • [Marinade]
  • 1 tablespoonsoy sauce
  • 1 teaspoonrice wine
  • 1 tablespoonsweet potato starch

Steps

45 minutes
  1. 1

    Rinse the ribs and marinate with the marinade for 30 minutes. Heat a pan with oil, add the ribs and stir-fry until browned, then add garlic and all the seasonings and stir-fry briefly.

    Add water to cover the ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce to medium-low heat and simmer until the ribs are flavorful.

    Finally, turn to medium-high heat to reduce the sauce until thickened.
