Every weekend, my kids (13 and 10) cook for us. They prepared everything from scratch. I merely supervised and gave hints and pointers when needed. They made this last weekend. It is easy, tasty, and very filling.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1onion, peeled and cubed
  2. 2carrots, peeled and chopped
  3. 6shiitake mushrooms (you can also use champignon or others), sliced thinly
  4. 1 cupmock meat, immersed in water for 5-10 minutes
  5. 1/2 tspsalt
  6. Black pepper according to your preference
  7. 1/2 cupbroth (mushroom broth)
  8. 1 tspsesame oil
  9. 1 tspgarlic paste
  10. 1 tbspoil

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Squeeze the mock meat to remove water. Set aside. If it is a bit hard, pour more water and wait for 5 minutes. Squeeze again to remove the water.

  2. 2

Pour oil into a pan, make sure that the pan is big enough. Use medium heat.

  3. 3

Put the cubed onion into the pan, stir occasionally. When it's a bit translucent, add the mock meat, then carrots, then mushrooms. Add garlic paste and stir well.

  4. 4

Add salt, black pepper, and sesame oil. Adjust the taste.

  5. 5

Lower the heat. Pour the broth. Stir occasionally. When the carrot has changed color and can be pierced by a fork easily, it is done.

  6. 6

    Serve warm with rice.
