Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupFresh green peas
  2. 1 cupRice
  3. 2 tbspButter
  4. 1 tspcumin seeds
  5. leafBay
  6. Cardamom pods 2 to 3
  7. Cloves2 to 3 pods
  8. 1 inchCinnamon
  9. leavesCurry
  10. 12-15Cashew Nuts
  11. 1 tspSalt
  12. Coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  13. 1 1/2 cupwater

Steps

    Wash and drain out water from the rice.

  2. 2

    Heat a pressure cooker over a medium heat. Add 2 tbsp butter and let it melt.

  3. 3

    Now, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaf, cardamom pods and saute well for 1 minute.

  4. 4

    Add green peas, cashew nuts, salt, and saute all for 2 to 3 minutes, after 3 minutes pour rinsed rice, add some coriander leaves and pour 1 and ¼ cup of water and bring it all to a boil.

  5. 5

    Cover the pressure cooker with lead and whistle and let rice cook covered for 15 to 20 minutes; or until 4 whistles.

  6. 6

    Here, Healthy, tasty matar pulao or peas rice is ready to serve and garnish with coriander leaves and serve it with any curry, pickle, papad and raita.
