It all depends on the right choice of bread! You want country bread, not fresh, ideally 1-2 days old.

Cut as many slices as you like.

Choose a tomato that is red, juicy but not too ripe... Wash it thoroughly.

Cut it in half and grate it coarsely, do not blend it... You want to have all the red juice of the tomato together with its flesh.

Sprinkle the bread slices with a little water.

Then, sprinkle with a little vinegar...

Sprinkle them with as much olive oil as you like...

I prefer them not too oily so that the taste of fresh tomato prevails...

Add 1-2 spoonfuls of tomato with its juices to soak the bread on each slice...
