Ingredients

  1. 2 poundslive prawns
  2. 1apple, sliced thinly
  3. 1medium onion, sliced
  4. 6garlic cloves
  5. 1 tablespoonginger, chopped
  6. 2-3green chili peppers, chopped
  7. 3-4small dried red chili peppers
  8. 5 inchx 8 inch dried kelp
  9. 2 1/2 cupssoy sauce
  10. 1/4 cuprice syrup
  11. 6 cupswater
  12. Garnish
  13. chopped green onion
  14. dried shredded red pepper (silgochu) or chopped red chili pepper
  15. sesame seeds

Steps

  1. 1

    Create marinade by combining soy sauce, water, dried chili pepper, ginger, apple, dried kelp, onion, garlic, and rice syrup in a heavy pot. Cover and bring it to a boil over medium high heat for 20 minutes, until boiling.

  2. 2

    Turn down the heat to low and keep boiling the marinade for another hour.

  3. 3

    Let the marinade cool down a little bit, strain it, and then let it cool down thoroughly. Set aside.

    Add prawns with chilled marinade
