Janmashtami is about to come. Dharwad peda is very famous Indian sweet which is made of soft thick piece of khoya, flavoured with cardamom seeds, pistachios, dry nuts, and saffron with Bura( healthy sugar). Peda may be creamy white to caramel in colour.

First we will make fresh paneer. Boil 1 Lt. Milk in a heavy bottom pan. Add curd 1tbsp water and vinegar in a bowl. Mix well. Add this mixture in boil milk.

When it starts curdle switch off the flame. Strain it in bowl. When all water comes out wash this paneer with cold water so sourness come out. Keep this paneer in muslin cloth and hang it so that all extra water comes out..

Heat a pan add paneer when all water evaporates add sugar, little milk and cardamom. Mix well. Switch off the flame. Let it cool. Grind this mixture in smooth paste.

Heat a pan add 1tbsp ghee pour this mixture. Keep stirring. Mixture on low medium flame. If mixture seems dry add little milk and ghee. But keep stirring till mixture turns brown in colour.

When mixture starts leaving sides of pan and brown in colour switch off the flame. Keep mixture out in a plate.

When it cool down make peda of your desire of shape. Coat these pedas with powdered sugar or boora. Dharwad peda is ready.

Adjust sugar as per your taste. Keep stirring else mixture will stick to. You can make these peda with Mawa/khoya.
