Hodge-Podge "Clean Out the Fridge" Chicken Soup Hodge-Podge "Clean Out the Fridge" Chicken Soup
Ok folks... this is a sneak peak into the life of a full-time mom, wife, nurse, farmer, homesteader, entrepreneur, adventurer, crafter, DIYer, maker, and doer.I do my best to save ONE day at home for our tried and trusted weekly meal-prep slam where I clean out our fridge and take stock on how our nutrition can help fuel our busy week ahead. I am a mom of a 13-year old growing boy and our 3-year old daughter. WE. KNOW. BUSY!Because I work outside the home as an Emergency Room Nurse, I try to plan ahead on my days off to ensure all is well on the homestead. Having a good, fresh spice rack and a few essentials on hand, (such as some homemade bone broth), can turn your fridge full of partial ingredients into a culmination of savory deliciousness in minutes! Swamp Soup Swamp Soup
I don’t have a picture of my soup. The reason it’s called Swamp Soup is cuz it looks like something you’d find in the swamp, kinda grassy, with chunks and bits. It goes great with some cornbread. It’s best if cooked with fresh ingredients, but if they’re not available frozen and canned will do in a pinch. #GoldenApron23 Sonya Bankester -

Sweet Hambone Soup Sweet Hambone Soup
When I make a soup, I am one of those toss it in kind of people. So, this recipe is a very close approximation of ingredients. A little more broth may be needed or a bit more of this or that. It's really all up to you and how thick or thin you want your soup or how many veggies you like! The hambone from your holiday ham can be saved and frozen until your ready to make your soup! Also, save some of the ham and add it to the soup! You can also get a hambone from your butcher or even a Honey Baked Ham store. Valarie
