Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoonsshortening
  • 2 tablespoonsbrown sugar
  • 2egg yolks
  • 1 cupswhole wheat flour
  • 1 cupsbran
  • 3 teaspoonsbaking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoonssalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonsbaking soda
  • 1 teaspoonswater
  • 1 cupsbuttermilk
  • 2egg whites stiffly beaten

Steps

    Melt shortening

  2. 2

    Add molasses sugar egg yolks

  3. 3

    Mix soda with water

  4. 4

    Sift dry ingredients

  5. 5

    Add soda mixture

  6. 6

    Mix alternately with milk

  7. 7

    Fold in egg whites

  8. 8

    Put in muffin pan bake at 425 for 20 to 30 minutes.
