Ingredients

  1. 1/4 cupdried rosemary
  2. 2 tbspdried oregano
  3. 1 tbspcrumbled dried sage
  4. 2 tbspdried garlic flakes
  5. 2 tbsppepper
  6. 1/4 cupcoarse salt (sea or kosher)

Steps

  1. 1

    Place rosemary in a bowl and crumble the leaves between your fingers to break them into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Stir in the oregano, sage, garlic, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3

    Transfer to a jar, cover, and store away from heat and light.

  4. 4

    *This rub will keep for several months.*

  5. 5

    **This recipe makes 3/4 cup.**

  6. 6

    ***You can also add a 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest for a touch of tartness***

  7. 7

    ****This makes a great gift.****

    *****You can brush the meat (fish, chicken, beef, veal, or pork) with olive oil, then sprinkle with the rub, patting the rub into the meat with your fingertips. If desired, squeeze some lemon juice over the rub. Marinade, covered, in the refrigerator for 30 to 60 minutes before grilling.*****

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
