Steps
- 1
Take besan in a bowl and add 2 cups of water. Make lump free batter. Make sure that the batter is not thick.
- 2
Divide the batter into 3 equal parts.
- 3
Add red, green and yellow food colour to each part of the batter.
- 4
Take a mash having small circles on it.
- 5
Heat the ghee in a pan. Hold the mash over the pan.
- 6
Pour one colour batter at a time over the mash to form the small boondi shape.
- 7
Fry from both sides. Do not overfry as it will change the colour of boondi.
- 8
Similarly, make boondi from all the three colored batters.
- 9
In another pan, heat water and sugar till they form single thread consistency.
- 10
Add milk to sugar syrup so that any impurities will collect at top. Remove them.
- 11
Add elaichi to it. Switch off the gas and add boondi to it.
- 12
Mix well. Rest it for around 3-4 hours.
- 13
Garnish meethi boondi with pistachios and almonds. It can be used to offer as prasad to deities.
