Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 2 lbfrozen green beans
  2. 4 tbspbutter divided
  3. 2 tbspflour
  4. 1 tspsalt
  5. 1/4 tsppepper
  6. 1 tspsugar
  7. 1/2 tspdried minced onion
  8. 1 cupsour cream
  9. 8 ozshredded cheddar cheese
  10. 1/2 cupcrushed corn flakes

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook green beans for 45 minutes; drain well

  2. 2

    In saucepan melt 3 tablespoons butter. Stir in flour, salt,pepper, sugar and onion;

  3. 3

    Cook on medium heat until mixture becomes bubbly.

  4. 4

    Remove from heat and add sour cream

  5. 5

    Fold in the green beans and mix well.

  6. 6

    Pour into greased 9x13 casserole dish

  7. 7

    Cover with cheddar cheese.

  8. 8

    Melt remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and mix with crushed cornflakes. Put on top of casserole.

  9. 9

    Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes
