Ingredients

1 hour 30 mins
  • for the cake
  • 3 cupap flour
  • 3 cupsugar
  • 1 lbbutter
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1/2 lbshortening
  • 5eggs
  • 1 tspvanilla extract
  • 1/2 tspbaking powder
  • glaze
  • 2 cuppowdered sugar
  • 1/4 cupbutter
  • 3 tbspmilk or cream
  • 1/2 tspvanilla extract or almond extract

Steps

1 hour 30 mins
  1. 1

    Cream together butter and shortening add sugar slowly a little at a time until light and fluffy

  2. 2

    Add eggs (room temp) one by one making sure each egg is well incorporated before adding the next

  3. 3

    Add 1/3 of your flour mix well followed by 1/2 of your milk continue until theres nothing left (make sure u start with flour and end with flour).

  4. 4

    Stir in vanilla extract and preheat oven to 350° (grease and flour cake pan) pour batter in and cook for 1hour to 1:30 mins depending on oven until toothpick inserted comes out clean

  5. 5

    For the glaze melt butter in a microwave or the stove top add to the powder sugar and add extract plus milk and whisk together add more or less cream for which ever consistency u prefer enjoy :-)
