Ingredients

  • 6 tspolive oil
  • 1Spanish onion
  • 9 tsptomato paste
  • 2chopped garlic cloves
  • 28 ozcan of crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 1bay leaf
  • 2 tbspchopped basil
  • 1/4 cupchopped oregano
  • 1/2 tspgranulated sugar

Steps

  1. 1

    In a small saucepan heat oil stir in onions and sauteed for 2 minutes.

    Add garlic and sauteed another 2 minutes

  3. 3

    Add in tomato paste and cook for 30 seconds stirring constantly

  6. 6

    Add crushed tomatoes salt bay leaf basil and oregano

  7. 7

    Simmer for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally till sauce has thickened

  8. 8

    Adjust seasonings with sugar as needed and remove bay leaf before serving

  9. 9
