Ingredients

  1. 6 cupwater
  2. 1 1/2 tspsalt
  3. 2 cupgrits
  4. 1 cupmild cheddar cheese shredded
  5. 2 tbspcrumbled bacon bits from 3 slices of bacon
  6. 3 tbspbacon drippings
  7. 3 tbspmargarine

Steps

  1. 1

    put water in pot add salt bring to boil stir water making a whirlpool add grit into whirlpool cover bring to boil again stirring occasionally let cook 7 minutes still stirring

    add bacon drippings margarine bacon and cheese stir well cover turn off heat let sit undistrubed 15 minutes
