Ingredients

  1. 1Haddock fillet, cut into cubes
  2. 400 gramsLarge peeled prawns
  3. 200 gramsMuscle meat ( I used frozen)
  4. 400 gramsCalamari
  5. 1 canCondensed Chicken or chicken and mushroom soup
  6. 1 canWhole corn
  7. 2 tspFresh thyme. Finely chopped
  8. 2 tspFresh parsley finely chopped
  9. 1 tspCrushed garlic
  10. 250 mlFresh cream
  11. 1Salt
  12. 1Black pepper
  13. 1/2Red pepper chopped roughly
  14. 1/2Yellow pepper chopped
  15. 2 largeCarrots. Peeled and chopped
  16. 2 mediumPotatoes. Peeled and chopped
  17. 1/2 packagesBacon chopped
  18. 1/2 tspDried sage
  19. 1Chili finely chopped
  20. 1/2 packagesFresh button mushrooms

Steps

  1. 1

    Fry bacon bits for a few minutes. Add prawns to pan and fry until colour changes ( about 3/4 minutes). Place in slow cooker. All ingredients except for cream. Do not drain the corn, add liquid to the pot. Add 1/2 can of water to the soup can and rinse out into the pot. Cook on low for 5 hours. Take out half of the chowder and blend with stick blender. Be careful to throw prawns and calamari back into the pot whole. This will thicken the chowder. Add cream and cook for a further 15 minutes.
