Steps
- 1
Put the omena in a bowl and wash using warm water for a minute to remove any dirt.
- 2
Then put a frying pan in a medium source of heat, add the omena and let it dry by using a spoon to turn it over.
- 3
Add enough cooking oil to fry the omena, and continue turning it over to avoid sticking or burning under a low heat now
- 4
When it starts turning light brown then add the onions to continue frying for around 2 to 3 minutes
- 5
Add tomatoes and salt to taste, let them cook a bit until they have softened, stir and remove from the heat
- 6
Ready to be served with hot ugali, favorite veges and you can also slice a fresh lemon and put alongside your tasty omena which can be squeezed (optional)
