One day i was looking around for a good rub to use during my first attempt to smoke a pork butt. I found this recipe on About.com (http://bbq.about.com/od/rubrecipes/r/bl912111a.htm). Although, the creator had only ribs in mind, this rub has proven to be loved by all that have tried it so far. It is a good rub to use on pork in general. I highly recommend trying this out.

1/2 cupbrown sugar
1/4 cuppaprika
1 tbspblack pepper
1 tbspsalt
1 tbspchili powder
1 tbspgarlic powder
1 tbsponion powder
1 tspcayenne pepper

Combine all ingredients together and transfer to an air tight container. May be stored up to six months.

Apply generously to any pork cut that you intend to grill or smoke.
