  1. 1 tspsalt
  2. 3 tbspmilk
  3. pinchground black pepper
  4. 700 gramsRed potatoes
  5. 2 1/2 tbspbutter

    Wash the potatoes well, leaving the skins on.

  2. 2

    Place potatoes in a large saucepan. Cover with water and 1 tsp salt.

  3. 3

    Cover and bring to the boil.

  4. 4

    Reduce heat, cook for 20-30 minutes or under tender.

    Drain potatoes well and place in a large bowl

  6. 6

    Mash the potatoes manually using a potatoe masher.

  7. 7

    Then transfer to a large bowl, add the milk, butter, and pepper and a pinch of salt.

  8. 8

    Using an electrical beater, beat on low speed until the potatoes are light and fluffy, add extra milk if too thick.

  9. 9

    Check seasoning, and serve pipping hot.
