Steps
- 1
Peel and cut plantain in small rounds of about 1/8 in thickness
- 2
Place plantain slices into a small amount of oil (I use medium-low) and cook both sides lightly. You want them semisoft on the top and bottom.
- 3
Take the slices from the oil and smash them flat. I generally use some wax paper for this part to keep them from sticking to surfaces.
- 4
Place them back into the oil and cook until light brown. Remove & let any oil drain on a paper towl. Add salt while still hot.
- 5
If you wish, add garlic powder or other tasty spice/spice mixture.
