Kesariya kheer is a Diwali special recipe. It is offered to goddess Laxmi on the occassion of Diwali as it is said to be favourite of goddess Laxmi.
Steps

Wash the rice and soak it for 30 min.

Take milk in a pan and allow it to boil. Add the saffron. As the first boil comes, simmer the flame and heat the milk in low flame for 10 min stirring continuously.

After 10 min milk will be thickened.

Strain the water from rice and add it to the milk and cook on low flame stirring continuously.

Turn off the flame as the rice is cooked.

Add sugar, cardamom powder and dry fruits and some saffron strands.

Allow it to cool and serve it.
